I’m Judicaël

I’m a French designer based in Semur-en-Auxois. I’m available for fractional partnerships, freelance projects and design advice.

I have been designing for fifteen years, with a special focus on the UX and UI of app and SaaS products. Most of my work is about making complex products simple and clear to use, always with a high sense of aesthetics.

For over a decade I have been cofounder and design lead at UPilot. It has taken me around the world along the way, with three years in Mauritius, where we started, and three years in India, where we grew the product. Today, I also work as a fractional partner, with a few teams at a time.

Away from the screen, life is pretty simple. I was more or less born into football and have played all my life. I love libraries, and I have slowly built a beautiful one at home. I never say no to travelling and tasting local food. And somewhere on a shelf, a box of miniature figurines waits to be painted, on the day I finally find the time.

Products that are easy to use, and nice to look at.

Good design starts with real user needs. Before anything, a product has to be easy and smart to use, with clear flows, no friction and nothing in the way. That is the foundation of everything I do.

But easy is not the finish line. A product that is comfortable and pleasant to use is what turns users into fans, and clients into referrals.

The way from easy to comfortable often runs through beauty. That is why I bring a high sense of aesthetics into everything I design, even, and especially, UX products.

Front-end & prototypes

I know front-end, so I don't stop at static mockups. I can hand over ready-to-test, high-fidelity prototypes.

Motion design & interaction

Motion and interaction design, to bring interfaces to life and make them feel natural and responsive.

Websites, branding & more

I'm versatile: websites, brand identities, logos, print and art direction, and even videos when a project needs it.

I also use AI every day, to work faster and explore more ideas.
